REGENT 8 uses ODBC (Open Database Connectivity) to access external data sources. With ODBC you can read several existing data formats and use them in REGENT 8. The operating system Microsoft Windows typically comes with the following ODBC drivers:
32 Bit:

Microsoft dBase Driver (*.dbf)
Microsoft Excel Driver (*.xls)
Microsoft ODBC for Oracle Driver

If you have installed a version of Microsoft Office, potentially there are some more ODBC drivers available, especially to read the newer data formats *.accdb of Access and *.xlsx of Excel. If you want to use these data formats without an installation of Microsoft Office or if you need 64 bit ODBC drivers in general, you can download and install the Microsoft Access Database Engine from the Microsoft webpage.
